Is Your Device Compatible?

Visit the Overdrive Device Resource Center to see of list of compatible and/or to test your device.

What Software Do I Need?

You need to download and install the free software that allows you to enjoy the type(s) of materials you are interested in.

- To download audiobooks to your computer you will need Overdrive Media Console for Windows, Mac or your mobile device.

- To download and transfer audiobooks to an Apple device you will also need to download iTunes and QuickTime from the Apple site.

- Windows users will also need to perform a Windows Media Player Security Upgrade.

What file types are compatible with my computer and device?

Overdrive audiobooks are available in .wma and .mp3 formats. Not all formats will play on all devices and/or computers. Please review compatibility information before downloading a title.

What is My Downloadable Book Account?

This is where you can see what items you have checked out, what items you are waiting and any items you've place on your wish list. Logging into 'My Downloadable Book Account' before you begin your search for materials is the most efficient way to use the site. Please note: You can have 4 items checked out at a time.

Can I Place Holds?

Yes, holds can be placed from within the downloadable site, but not from the library catalog. We would recommend clicking on the book title to see how many people might be waiting before you place your hold. You will receive an email notification when your item is ready for download. You have 48 hrs. to download your hold. If an item is checked out you should assume that it will be at least 14 days before the item will be available to you. If the item has other holds, multiply 14 times the # of holds to get an idea of how long you wil be waiting. Please note: You can have 5 holds pending at a time.
