  Find out if you can file your federal taxes online for free. This link from the IRS points you to commercial services that provide free services for individuals based on age, income, and other requirements. Not everyone is eligible for Free File. To find out if you qualify, check out this site.
   
• Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE)

  These programs provide free tax counseling for low to moderate income people and for people age 60 and over.
