VIDEO THE LIBRARY CONTEST
Showcase your filmmaking talents by creating a short promotional video about why the Westminster Public Library is fun and cool. Your video should be less than 2 minutes long and could (but is not required to) feature one of these themes:
- Discover the Possibilities @ Westminster Public Library
- Your Adventure Awaits @ Westminster Public Library
- Get connected @ Westminster Public Library
Who can participateStudents in grades 6-12 who live in or attend schools in Westminster, Colorado, are welcome to enter as individuals or in teams. Entries will be broken into two categories: grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. See How to Participate for more details.
PrizesGrades 6-8 Judge's Choice: $250
Grades 6-8 People's Choice: $100
Grades 9-12 Judge's Choice: $250
Grades 9-12 People's Choice: $100
Prizes will be awarded at a reception at College Hill Library during National Library Week, April 13-19, 2014.
Each student who submits a video will also receive a one Day Pass to any of the Westminster Recreation Centers. One pass per student.
Our panel of judging will be looking for creativity, message clarity and relevance and overall impact. Our panel of judges will select three entries in each grade category for recognition. One entry will receive the Judges' Choice award. All three entries will be posted on the Library's Facebook page so people can vote for their favorite. The winners of the Facebook contest will receive the People's Choice award.
